China International Cooperation Forum on Halal Food Certification HALALTRENDS

(Ningxia-AlummahWorld, Rabi`I 6, 1437, December 17, 2015) China (Ningxia) International Cooperation Forum on Halal Food Certification held on 11-12 September 2015 in Yinchuan, Ningxia, China.

A delegation of OIC/SMIIC, the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries attended the China International Cooperation Forum on Halal Food Certification in Yinchuan, Ningxia, China.

Mr. Sebahittin KORKMAZ, Chairman of the SMIIC Board of Directors, together with Mr. İhsan OVUT, Secretary General and accompanying delegation attended China (Ningxia) International Cooperation Forum on Halal Food Certification which was held on 11-12 September 2015 in Yinchuan, Ningxia, China.

Mr. Chairman delivered a keynote speech in the inauguration ceremony of the Forum underlying the importance of OIC/SMIIC standards which are the result of a common study conducted by the experts of OIC Member States in enhancing halal trade by eliminating technical barriers. 

During the Forum, Secretary General delivered a corporate presentation on the activities of the SMIIC by sharing the latest developments carried out under the SMIIC Technical Committees regarding the revision of OIC/SMIIC standards. Mr. ÖVÜT also illustrated the recent outputs of the SMIIC Accreditation Committee (AC) along with the SMIIC AC Scheme which is planned to be launched by the beginning of 2016.

Mr. Chairman and Secretary General took this opportunity to invite all halal certification bodies to implement OIC/SMIIC standards and to be part of SMIIC AC Scheme by applying to the SMIIC AC for halal accreditation in order to diminish technical barriers.
